Personalising your ChatGPT sounds like an oxymoron if you're the type of person who wants to distance yourself from relying on AI...

While there has been much contention about using ChatGPT in many sectors, it has also become a helpful and valuable tool for many professionals and the general public.

ChatGPT has become many people's first reference source, from crafting emails to generating content ideas. Some even go as far as asking the AI platform personal questions or for advice.

Some may choose to personalise their relationship with the AI-led chatbot, for example, by naming their ChatGPT. While this may not seem like a wise option, the ChatGPT community might lean toward this option as it is a fun approach to personalising a source that could be considered a 'friend'.

While we are not certain you can give your ChatGPT a name on your account, you can personalise the name of your ChatGPT sessions in the settings on your account. This allows you to personalise your interactions and keep track of each one.

You can also customise your instructions on your ChatGPT account to get a more tailored response. For instance, you could instruct your ChatGPT to call you a particular name.

Adding traits to your ChatGPT is also possible. Custom instructions allow customisation of ChatGPT's responses based on your preferences, and can be modified or removed anytime for future conversations. (Help page)

While naming your ChatGPT sounds fun and lighthearted, it might not be the best idea if you are trying to distinguish human responses from bot ones.

If you had the chance to name your ChatGPT, what would it be and why?
