Did this giraffe really board a plane for emotional support?
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
A video showing a giraffe boarding a plane with its owner has people making fun online about giraffes qualifying as emotional support animals.

If you haven't already tried AI graphic tools, you won't be the wiser when watching certain videos online. Some are made to look so natural that they can fool you into believing what you see.
Remember the goat on the electrical line that looked real but had us questioning the use of AI? The video had over 100 million views and showed a goat balancing on an electrical cable.
The video below from TikTok shows a woman walking around the streets of Mexico holding a giraffe on a leash as if it is her pet.

This video is AI-generated. But another video circulating on social media has people saying they have seen it all.
The video shows a man leading his giraffe into an aeroplane. It looks like they are boarding the flight. Of course, something's not right here, there's no way any airline will allow a giraffe to board a flight.
The giraffe is said to be an emotional support animal. According to dotsure.co.za, "there has been a recognised increase in the positive effects animals have had on humans' mental health. This specifically applies to conditions such as depression, anxiety, phobias, loneliness, and PTSD, where proof exists that animal interaction has a positive impact on affected humans."
While bringing an emotional support animal is usually allowed in most establishments, trying to board a plane with a giraffe might be pushing your luck just a little.
