As we all try to do our bit in the sustainability journey, many find themselves forced into the plastic bag phenomenon as they forget to carry their reusable shopping bags.

It's not that we willingly want to contribute to the significant pollution problem; it's just that we tend to forget our promise to do better in playing our part in living a plastic-free lifestyle.

Content creator Katinka Oosthuizen shared a funny clip on ways to remember your reusable shopping bags when going to the shops.

Oosthuizen is more than just a content creator – you might remember her from 'Survivor South Africa' in 2018, where she earned a reputation for her quick wit and unfiltered humour.

She started the video by saying that if collecting Woolworths reusable shopping bags was an Olympic sport, "I would literally be first place."

But Oosthuizen is more than just a content creator – you might remember her from 'Survivor South Africa' in 2018, where she earned a reputation for her quick wit and unfiltered humour.

So it’s no surprise that the “tips” she shares in this video aren’t exactly practical; they’re pure comedy.

Oosthuizen offers two hilarious tricks she says help her remember to grab her Woolies bags before heading to the shops.

Watch the video from Instagram below.

People found her video hilarious.

One person shared a helpful tip, "Woolworths has a rack in the store for clients to drop off their excess bags for those who forget to bring theirs. Genius. Unfortunately, not many people know about it."

Another person asked Woolworths for help, saying, "You need to start a support group, cause how in the world do I remember the bag when it’s time for me to pay?"

Hilariously and in a great effort toward brand engagement, Woolworths SA replied, "Say less – the 'I Forgot My Bag... Again' support group is officially in session. Weekly meetings held just after checkout, right next to the flowers section."
