South Africans are still in a state of shock from the massive fuel price hike at the beginning of this month, and it looks like November will see yet another hike. It just keeps going up and up.

It seems like two South African guys decided that they would beat the system by devising a clever way to get down a highway. According to Intelligence Bureau SA, the pair were caught on camera on their way to Sandton via Grayston Drive. They decided that they’d also had enough of the soaring petrol costs, and took to careering down the highway on their trolley.

Reactions from fellow South Africans watching the video ranged from those who welcomed the opportunity to laugh at the lighter side of life, to those who were outraged by the blatant disregard for law and safety. Not to mention that it's super dangerous.

While some internet users pointed out that the roads are for licensed, roadworthy vehicles driven by law-abiding motorists, others worried about the consequences of running over these guys.

If the government doesn't do anything about the rising petrol prices soon, many South Africans are going to turn to various alternative methods to get around.

Please note that myself nor East Coast Radio condone this type of dangerous behaviour. This should not be attempted at home.
