The Big Favour gets behind the Talk Sign campaign

The Big Favour gets behind the Talk Sign campaign

Show your support for this campaign by purchasing a sticker and remember to wear it on the 10th of March.

Last week I chatted about World Hearing Day and shared an article about a dad and daughter singing ‘If you happy and you know it’ using sign language.

This story really touched my heart and that’s why this week I am shining light on a campaign called Talk Sign.

The Talk Sign campaign was initiated by the KZN Blind & Deaf Society four years ago due to the need to popularize South African Sign Language and raise funds for deaf education and job creation.

Stickers are only R10 each and you are encouraged to buy and wear one on the 10th of March to show your support for the campaign. Stickers are available from all Chateau Gateaux stores countrywide (there are nine branches) as well as selected Superspars and Kwikspars, and other retail outlets.

To find out more, you can like the Facebook page (Talk Sign) or visit www.talksign.co.za.

For bulk orders of 50 or more stickers, you can call Alice on 082 577 2110 or [email protected].

There is also a competition where you can win a two-night stay at Paperbark Lodge at Tala simply by taking a photo of yourself practicing sign language and posting it to Instagram with the hashtags, #talksignday and #talacollection.

If you're a corporate company and would like to make a donation to Talk Sign, please email Alice for more information.
