A woman who focuses her content on South African job salaries on social media recently posted a video that received over 185,000 views. 

The video shared the salary of a private school teacher in Cape Town and it was clear that she wasn't the only one who found it impressive. 

The total pay for one month was roughly R49,000 and included medical aid (R1,500), pension fund (R3,700), and UIF (R177).

According to payscale.com, the average salary for a teacher in South Africa is R206,058 a year.

The woman, Boni, posted another video showing the payslip of a teacher in a government school in Mpumalanga.

Here, the basic salary was R26,000. That's R312,000 a year.
