It is always amazing to hear stories about South Africans who manage to do things that are far beyond their personal circumstances.

We recently heard about the NOVAR app, created by two young men using limited resources to create something that could solve educational limitations. Marvel Shibambu and Malunghelo Mathonsi continued to showcase their work, and doors began to open after their story went viral on the Cool Story Bru social media page.

Cool Story Bru has shared another story of two young men with insane mechanical and robotics talent.

Aubrey Shabane from Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga and Temba from Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal, have been sharing their projects online, leaving people in awe of their raw talent.

Temba built a car from scratch and even shows off his prosthetic hands using scrap and other materials. Watch the video of him testing out his prosthetic hand, courtesy of TikTok

The level of forward thinking demonstrated by these two young men is remarkable. They don't have any formal training or mechanical resources, but they have created some of the most advanced working robotics.

They use recycled materials to create some of the most amazing contraptions, from wire prosthetic hands to mini robots,  Their stories prove that you don't need much to start making what you love.

Their stories have reached hundreds, if not thousands, of people, and we hope an opportunity arises.

Watch one of the videos shared by Aubrey Shabane, also known as Mickiejay, on Instagram. In the video, he communicates with his robot, MJ.

Both men are looking for funding and opportunities. Let's be equally inspiring by doing our bit to spread the word about their work.
