Video shows a lion eating meat inside grocery store

Could this be real, or could this be AI creeping into our feed again?

We've seen some of the most realistic AI-generated videos shared on social media. While some videos shared online can be easily pinned as AI, they are becoming increasingly 'real-looking'.
A video that has us gobsmacked shows a lion inside a grocery store. The initial video was posted on TikTok, and the person who posted it has over 330,000 followers. Ataques Feroz often posts content on his social media accounts that shows rare and unusual sightings of wild and dangerous animals.
The video, which has raised questions about its authenticity, shows a lion inside the meat aisle of a grocery store, helping himself to the abundant meat supply.
The video was reposted on Instagram by the Safaris page. They wrote, "A wild lion casually entered a grocery store in South Africa, walking straight to the meat section like he owns it. This unexpected moment had shoppers frozen in disbelief. Nature just pulled up for dinner."

Like many others on social media, we are relatively sure that this is an AI-generated video. In many of the other videos posted by the original poster, Ataques Feroz, we see he credits CapCut, particularly the AI-generated features on the editing app.
It is alarming to see how real it looks and, more so, how something like this could potentially cause mayhem. While this video could be mistaken for 'real', the lines between what is real and what is AI-generated have become blurry online.
Fake news has a way of spreading like wildfire. The original poster, Feroz, shares many videos about lions. Check out the one below that shows lions allegedly make their way to a construction site, courtesy of TikTok.
