Nice to see that we are abreast of the situation...

As women from all walks of life, we know that we all have our own personal feelings when it comes to body image.

Especially the size of our bosoms.

Looked upon as a part of a woman's body that is often sexualised, it can be tricky to see it as anything else. But this part of the woman's body is also a means of food for babies, and also represents a big part of our female health.

Therefore, when you read that South Africa is the highest ranked country in Africa for largest breast cup sizes, as much as we want to say we are blessed, it is also a curse.

For the lack of a better word, we do associate our breasts with our sexuality and therefore wearing the right bra has and always will be a big deal.

"The latest research has revealed that European countries dominate the list of countries with the largest breasts globally through average cup sizes criteria." (The South African)

"Around the world, Norway tops the list with an average cup size of C-D. Luxembourg and Iceland are listed second and third, respectively, with a cup size of C according to the standard United States cup size. The United States and the United Kingdom are in the top 10, ranked fourth and fifth, with an average cup size of C." (The South African)

Not to sound pompous about the whole thing, but we think that the World Data research cannot be inclusive, considering the bra sizes we see in South African stores.

Which go all the way up to sizes F and G.

"However, South Africa is only Africa ranked in the top 50. It has a cup size of A against an average body mass index of 29.5, making it the African country with women with bigger breasts. Algeria is the second-highest-ranked African country when it comes to breast sizes." (The South African)

When it comes to health and fitness, having a large breast cup size isn't what it is socialised as.

If you are one of those women who can never get the right bra size, or you can but it's not cheap, then you know about back pain.
