KZN couple: "We don't know how alarms work"
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
A couple from Richards Bay share their first time living in a home with an alarm system, and their laughter is contagious.

"Yes, we know how alarms work now..." said Daniel Chitombi when we asked him about the hilarious 'alarm' story he shared on social media with his wife, Ingrid-Rose.
The two are known by many for their interesting and engaging content. Based in Richards Bay, north of KwaZulu-Natal, they have a natural charisma that makes their followers feel like they know them personally.
The couple recently became parents and are navigating parenthood with their one-month-old baby boy.
Daniel is originally from Zimbabwe, and Ingrid-Rose, from Chatsworth, met in 2021 and married in 2023. While Ingrid is a qualified eyelash technician, Daniel works for Crisis Shield, which provides family ambulance covers and hospital cashback.
The couple shared a video explaining that they recently moved into a new place. They called themselves 'brokies' because they didn't understand the workings of an alarm system.
Living in South Africa, you would think they would know how an alarm works. However, these two were mortified when Ingrid-Rose mistakenly pressed the panic button and a screeching alarm went off.
Watch the video below from Instagram, in which they explain what happened to them.

Yes, we know how alarms work now. Before we moved in, the rental agent told us that the alarm was disconnected, so we did not bother learning about it because we thought it was unnecessary, but then it was not disconnected; it was very much connected.- Daniel Chitombi
We contacted Daniel, and he was all too happy to share what happened after they heard a knock at the door.
"The ADT alarm security came and knocked at the house, and we had to explain that story to them," he said.
The two have strong social media followings across their platforms, totalling over 160,000 on TikTok and 13,000 on Instagram.
They have a natural ability to make people laugh, and their growing audience seems to agree. Check out some of the comments from the video below.
