Seeking work? eThekwini Municipality is hiring this festive season

Seasonal workers wanted for beaches across the Metro area this festive season.

As the festive season approaches, we can say not everyone is looking forward to it.

Why?

Unemployment and the horrific economic situation.

So many people in South Africa are feeling the pinch right now and finding a job has become one of the most difficult things to do.

The eThekwini Municipality has created some sort of relief with their recent announcement of job opportunities during the festive season.

"The municipality is looking to employ childminders, lifeguards, and waste pickers." (IOL)

They have not yet specified how many positions are available, but it certainly is good news for those looking for some sort of work, even though this is only seasonal.

What we do know is that details about the job vacancies will be advertised in the Metro Ezasegagasini.

Other good news around the beach is that "Twenty-three out of 27 beaches in the metro are open for swimming." (IOL)

It seems like it's an A for KZN as we move into the festive season. The municipality has increased the testing of the water, in their efforts to ensure safer water for both tourists and locals.

As they finalise the recruitment of the seasonal workers and the reopening of the Laguna pools, it is definitely sounding like a positive festive period is on the horizon.

The paddling pools bring back so many memories for Durbanites and its re-opening is quite nostalgic.
