Dad tells daughter she's not ready for marriage

This is proof that evolution has impacted tradition as well.

Love and marriage haven't always gone hand in hand. There was a time when it was more marriages of association than love.

But the concept has evolved and wasn't set in stone for all marriages.

Lobola, a cultural tradition in Zulu culture, has long been considered a spiritual practice that unites two families and their ancestors.

Safe to say it is generally considered a happy occasion. However, one family were not so happy to receive news that their daughter was being courted.

A young lady who decided to prank her family with a letter of interest from a suitor videoed the whole affair.

Traditionally, it has been noted that parents are happy when they receive interest from suitors who are interested in joining hands in marriage.

After all, look at what the popular show 'Bridgerton' displayed to us about English traditions. Proof that it wasn't just one culture that participated in this tradition.

Where once fathers would want to marry their daughters off for lobola or dowry, things have definitely evolved.

And in this case, we saw the dad and his son disagree with any thoughts of marriage for Zinhle, the young woman who sneakily is behind the prank.

They were firm in their demeanour that they would not be accepting any marriage proposals.
