VIDEO: Explosive whale washes up on shore!
Updated | By Rory Petzer
An 80-ton dead blue whale, bloated with methane gas, has washed up on a Canadian beach and is putting residents at risk as it is likely to explode at some point.
According to a report by Sky News, the 26-metre long carcass is filled with methane gas and poses a real danger as it decomposes and fills with methane gas.
The carcass is also creating an unbearable smell.
Residents in the town of Trout River, Newfoundland, are now desperately trying to get rid of it before it bursts near the waterfront.
The mammal is likely to be one of a group of blue whales that died several weeks ago in heavy ice off Newfoundland's western coast and is now emitting an odour that is hard to ignore.
The whale is also attracting tourists who have gone there to have their picture taken with it.
