VIDEO: Alabama-style tooth extraction
Updated | By Rory Petzer

Alabama dad, Phil Smith decided against the old 'doorknob and piece of string' method of tooth extraction.
Instead, Smith opted for some dental floss, a golf ball, a golf club and one very, very nervous and trusting young son.
With the kind of trust akin to that found in the story of William Tell, 7-year-old Noah allows his father to tee up a golf ball, connected to his tooth by a strand of dental floss.
Dad gets to practice his golf swing while son gets his tooth extracted!
Defending this bizarre method, Smith said afterwards, "My seven-year-old wanted to pull his tooth but was concerned it would be to painful to pull slowly. So we did it quickly and in his words with no pain, just a little fear."
We'd really love to hear your thoughts on this: Is this irresponsible parenting or just plain genius? Have you used any unconventional or strange methods to remove a tooth before? Please tell us!
