The adoptees for this week

Let's share the importance of adopting animals from shelters; here is the list of the dogs looking for a new home this week.

Too many people believe that a dog from a shelter is almost second grade compared to buying one from a breeder or pet shop, and that is absolutely not true! They are just as sweet and loving.

I'd even go so far as to say that they are even MORE loving and loyal simply because they've been given a second chance.

There are far too many animals sitting in various shelters across Kwazulu Natal, just waiting to find a new home and someone to love them forever.

The reason for them not having a home is because they've been rescued, surrendered, abandoned, or even worse, abused.

Remember that there will be an adoption fee that varies from shelter to shelter, and there will also be a compulsary home check before you can adopt any of these animals.

1. Jack Russell - SPCA Toti

First we have this young adult female jack russel. This little dog is very alert, very well disciplined and walks on a leash well. She sometimes has issues with other small female dogs otherwise she is very friendly. She was brought in as stray and has an abundance of energy. Please contact us on 031 904 2424 or [email protected]. To be homed in the Durban area only.

2. Pekinese Pug - SPCA Toti

Then we have the young adult Pekinese x Pug. She is a lovely girl who gets on  with most dogs. She loves attention. Enjoys a bit of exercise and loves affection. She was brought in as a stray. Please contact us on 031 904 2424 or [email protected]. To be homed in the Durban area only.

3. Pepper - Mazarat Kennels

Brenda rescued a female dog with 11 pups from an informal settlement a few weeks ago. Unfortuntely 9 of the 11 died. One of the two remaining pups has been homed, and only cuddly little Pepper is still at the Mazarat Kennels waiting patiently for his forever home. They have advertised him extensively but had no luck with getting him a home. He's so sweet and deserves to be loved!
Apparently he has a gorgeous nature and is like a floppy doll when you hold him in your arms.

Please call Roy on 082 978 5946 if you'd like to offer Pepper a loving home.
