Here are the winners, losers and highlights from the movie world's biggest night of the year.

And the Oscar goes to… 

Julianne Moore and young Brit Eddie Redmayne, a first-time nominee, took out Best Actor and Actress at this year’s Academy Awards. 

The night belonged to Birdman, the story of a washed-up superhero film star who tries to revive his career with a play on Broadway, which took home four awards.
