Goodluck strike gold...again.

Goodluck strike gold...again.

Jason spent the week listening to the new Goodluck album "Creatures of the Night" - and is smitten.

So when you are at a party and it's dying, one of two things take place.

1. You pull out that crusty bottle of Jose Cuervo you save for emergencies, fire back a few shots and hope for the best or

2. You pull out your trusty go-to album and be that guy that everyone looks up to as the saviour of savvy social skills.

That album is more than often, in my experience a Goodluck album.

So you can imagine, how excited I was when I found out we had the new album Creatures of the Night at work.. just itching for a turn in my cd player!

I went to the Goodluck gig at Live the Venue a few weeks ago and, aside from being surprised at the variety in age of the groups fans, (which varies from teen bopper to ballie deluxe by the way) I was taken immediately by their new track - Trickery.

And that bodyguard song aweh as my brother would say, aweh.

It seems that once again goodluck have struck creative gold and produced another pearler of an album, which progresses from playful to direct passion to some sort of new age tribute to the swinging era of music your grandfather got his swag on to, that same age which was so classy and sexy it couldn't be bound to the 40s and 50s. Instead it has popped its catchy head back into the post 2000s - and thanks to Goodluck - it's fresher than ever.

That's not to say they aren't playing in the realm of dubstep and what I see as 'holiday house' - which I classify as fun, party starting house that is suited to a club, but would work best on a beach, sipping a cocktail and watching the sun backflip over the horizon...

Tracks I loved:

Trickery - it says play me when you need a lift, or are about to hit the club, or the beach, or the road for that epic roadtrip to Namibia.

Bodyguard- when you are taking your partner to dinner.

I love Goodluck - I just don't understand how they haven't exploded onto the US scene like they so rightly deserve.

I think this album goes to show just how strong the creative juices flow between the duo. Creatures of the Night is that one album you need to own if you have any desire to swim when it's super windy, as the sun sets over a red hot Mozambique summer afternoon.

If this album was a phenomenon it would be a disco ball over the ocean - lit up by a lighthouse.

Let me know your thoughts on this amazing album when you buy it. And yes, you will buy it!

It's available for order on iTunes now!

Check out the Trickery video and you will get what I am saying!
