Gabriel’s most embarrassing outfit

There’s a time in your life, when you look back and the first thing that comes to mind is, “I want to forget that.” Normally, these are brief moments in our lives, lasting no longer than a few hours. However, in Gabriel’s case it was an entire month. 

A few years ago, not long after I joined East Coast Radio, came a call of duty that I could not say no to.

A month long promotion whereby, as part of my duties, I was required to wear a superhero costume. A neon-red, Superman replica costume. Sounds cool right! Well, I also thought it would be great. 

I did not consider that, Superman is about 6ft 4inch and I’m 5ft 6inch. That’s an eleven inch difference. He’s in great physical shape and wears size 11 boots, whereas I’m fat and wear size 8. However, this costume was going to be altered anyway. This was not the case. I had to fit in it as it was! 

Wait, it gets better though! My colleagues at East Coast Radio insisted that I wear the costume around the office “to see if it fits well.” Three years down the line, everyone still remembers that story and cannot contain their laughs! 

How did I look in it? Well, I was supposed to be this “Redman” superhero guy, I ended up being Po the telly tubby. The cape was down to my calves. The boots were three sizes bigger, I was tripping over them.

The supposedly waist part of the suit was down to my thighs. The superhero pair of underwear were too big. From the back they sagged, like those beach goers who bath in their undies…and sand gets trapped and looks like….yaah that! 

I really want to forget Super-tell tubby guy! Some things you should not be seen dead wearing!
