Darren considers 'the other side' of hunting

This week Darren was outraged when American cheerleader Kendall Jones posted dozens of photos of rare animals she hunts on African ‘safaris’ He decided to have a look at the 'other' side of the anti-hunting debate

Thank you for a response from the 'other' side. I suppose the issue of hunting and conservation is, to me, like affirmative action - a necessary evil. I can understand it,  but I don't have to like it.

It's kind of cyclical thinking drives me crazy. We need to allow the animals to be hunted so we can raise the money to protect the animal so they can be hunted!

So it's a necessary evil. I get it. The hunters are contributing to conservation. I still have difficulty getting past the blood lust bit though.

The animals would not need protecting in the 1st place if we respected them enough not to hunt them, some to the point of extinction. I'm having difficulty imaging the likes of Kendall Jones and Melissa Bachman picking up a hunting rifle and saying; "Yee-Hah! Let's go save us some wild animals..."

I'm glad I know both sides of the argument now, but I'm still firmly in the camp of - "I like my animals with less lead in them." I do too enjoy a good argument, and this one, it seems, isn't going away. One could also say; "I like my wildlife like I like my debates - lively.
