Come on! Adopt, don't shop!
Updated | By Abi Ray

Too many people believe that a dog from a shelter is almost second grade compared to buying one fro a bredder or pet shop, and that is absolutely not true! They are just as sweet and loving. I'd even go so far as to say that they are even MORE loving and loyal simply because they've been given a second chance.
There are far too many animals sitting in various shelters across Kwazulu Natal, just waiting to find a new home and someone to love them forever.
The reason for them not having a home is because they've been rescued, surrendered, abandoned, or even worse, abused.
A shelter dog will show you love for the rest of it's life! I speak from experience because mylittle Bonzo came from the SPCA and he's the sweetest little guy ever.
Remember that there will be an adoption fee that varies from shelter to shelter, and there will also be a compulsary home check.
1. Jasper - Phoenix Animal Care & Centre
2. Unnamed female - SPCA Toti
We have the small tan adult female cross breed. She is a loving dog who loves affection. She loves sitting on laps and being carried. She would love to be a lap dog and would probably suit a family without small children. She is fine with other dogs as long as they not too boisterous and jump on her. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by cats. She is very obedient and walks nicely on a leash. She was a stray. She is in Kennel 3.

She is to be homed in the Durban area only
3. Tree - SPCA Toti
We have a very handsome dog nicknamed ‘Tree’ as he was found tied to a tree outside the SPCA. He is a very loving and docile giant. Generally gets along with other dogs and does not seemed to be phased by cats. Seems to be very well trained and walks well on a leash. He is a fully grown adult but very young still. Would make a lovely pet for a family with slightly older children.

Tree will only be homed in the Durban area.
4. Tom and Jerry - SPCA Toti
Then we have the two gorgeous ginger kitten brothers. We have Tom and Jerry who were surrendered to us as they had to relocate. They are both very loving cats who love to talk to you and get lots of affection. They are both about 8months old.

They are also to be homed in the Durban area only.
