South African swimmer Gerhard Zandberg has told Sportswave he will go to court to overturn Swimming South Africa's recent disciplinary action against him.
They have slapped him with a two-year suspension and a hefty fine following an incident while at this year's FINA World Championships in August.
Zandberg was disciplined for swapping rooms without the approval of team management.
But he has told us this was unfair and he is going to challenge it.
"All the money that I have invested, obviously I want the best outcome for my investment - which makes sense.
"Cameron [van der Bergh] got sick in the room which we shared and I requested via the correct route to be moved to protect my own health and performance, which was only six days later, and swimmers' aid just refused. They refused to move my room regardless of Cameron's health," he said.
