VIDEO: Tigerfish on fly tackle
Tigerfish are found in a number of African rivers and are famous for their prominent teeth and fierce fighting ability.
The goliath tigerfish is the most famous member of this family and can weigh up to 50kgs.
These are found in the Congo River system.
The species further south is known simply as the tigerfish and is commonly caught in the Zambezi River and also the Okavango Delta and Lake Kariba.
Jozini Dam in northern KZN is another venue famous for its tigerfish.
