VIDEO: Superb short-leg catches
Short-leg sure can be an interesting place to field.
You are in the face of the batsman and in a position to pounce on even slight errors of judgement.
The negatives are the risk of taking a serious blow and having to sweat it out under the helmet.
The position is there for a ball popping up off the bat or for one of those bat-pad scenarios.
However, some full blooded strokes have also ended in dismissal courtesy of the short-leg fielder.

I am not surprised to see David Boon featuring.
He was a regular at short-leg for Australia during his Test career.
