VIDEO: Roosterfish on fly tackle
Roosterfish can reach 1.6 metres in length and can weigh up to around 50 kilograms.
They are not considered great for eating, but are famous for putting up quite a fight.
They are found in the warmer waters of the east Pacific Ocean and are a popular target for anglers in California in the USA.
Roosterfish can be caught as far south as Peru in South America.
So not much chance of catching one of these off KZN.
