VIDEO: KZN king mackerel fishing
Summer is upon us here in KwaZulu-Natal and this means that local anglers should soon start catching their fair share of king mackerel.
The king mackerel or couta is a very popular target for fishermen in KZN waters.
These fish should not be confused with the barracuda.
Both have very sharp teeth - but they are different species.
King mackerel are often caught on live shad and ribbon fish here in KZN.
The footage below shows that they also feed on live mullet.
