VIDEO: Kob on artificial bait
I have caught all my kob on either live bait or dead bait and have never landed one using artificial bait.
I can recall catching kob on live shad, live karanteen, live blacktail and live mullet.
I have also caught these fish on sardine and squid.
I know that many of our ski-boat and kayak anglers here in KZN fancy live maasbanker and live mackerel as baits for kob, especially the big daga salmon.
However, there are anglers who catch their kob on artificial baits like the McArthy paddletail.
Our footage below was shot in the Eastern Cape and includes tips on how to present your artificial bait correctly.
It certainly looks a less messy and slimy process.
