The wahoo is a fish found in both tropical and sub-tropical seas around the world.
The wahoo is prized for its excellent fighting ability and tasty meat.
Wahoo can weigh over 80kg and can grow to over 2 metres in length.
They are fast swimmers and it is believed they can reach speeds of close to 100 kilometres an hour.
Aliwal Shoal is one of the better spots in KZN for targeting this species.
I also recall a couple caught near the ships anchored off Umhlanga earlier this year.
Wahoo have sharp teeth and anglers should take care when removing hooks from their mouths.
Today we go to Florida in the USA for some fine wahoo action.
