VIDEO: Anglers hook same fish

It is not often that you will see two anglers hooked into the same fish.

I have seen one angler hooked into more than one fish, but the opposite is a new experience for me.

In the footage below it is the legendary Captain Blair Wiggins and his host who end up tussling with the same prodigal son.

They refer to the fish as a cobia.

These fish are very good for eating and also fight very well.

They are known to follow other predators in a bid to feed on scraps left from meals.

The largest prodigal son I have seen in Durban weighed 34kg.

It was shot by a diver off the Bluff.

Alain Tardin, Mak Dlamini and I will be hoping to catch fish of our own at the Durban Ski Boat Festival later this month.

Alain and I are also planning to compete at the Quattro King of the Sea fishing competition at Pumula next month.
