Terblanche was born in Mossel Bay back in 1975.

Today we catch up with his wife Jacqui.

1. What is your favourite sport and why?

My favourite would be running and hockey. Love to think whilst running and seeing the outdoors. Love running with mates and catching up. Stef and I often go for runs together. Other sport would be hockey – fast paced and now that the kids are playing at school it’s fun to watch!

2. What’s ONE thing most people don’t know about your partner?

He is petrified of clowns!

3. Were you always on the side-lines watching your partner when he played?

I was most often when he played. Only missed when the kids were born.

4. Did you have any pre-match rituals or habits?

Stayed out of his way!! No, when he played we always ate the same chicken & cream pasta the night before. Early to bed and then we did kind of leave him to his own devices of compression tights on and music on the ears!

5. What did you love most about your partner’s sport?

I love that fact that we got to travel to so many countries and meet so many amazing people. Our eldest daughter was born in Wales when we were there playing for the Ospreys. We met some awesome friends that we visit and still keep in touch with today. Ireland was a wonderful opportunity as well. We took the whole family which then included a three-month old baby! A great experience for all of us – the kids still talk about our time there.

6. What did you like least about your partner’s profession?

Politics! Injuries and the travel. That four or five-week tour every year is not a nice one to face. It doesn’t get easier with the years – in fact I felt it got harder as there were more kids as the years passed.

7. What’s your favourite day of the week and why?

Has to be a Friday! We love the weekend. Family and friends.

8. Any story or anecdote you’re comfortable sharing about your partner in relation to their profession?

Stef loved/loves the game and is so passionate about what he was a part of. Was so refreshing to see someone doing to a job that they love. He loves to train and never complained about the physical side of the game. I admire his discipline when it comes to eating and training – wish I could be half like him! Very proud that the kids were old enough to watch him play and be proud of their dad on the field. Love watching our eldest son and Stef sifting through Youtube clips of old Bok games and tries when Stef played – even our son is amazed at his dad's abilities! Still very much our hero! There is always a game of catch, cricket, hockey or rugby going on here if dad is home!
