Palace the big upset against Liverpool?

Wolves v Leicester

This Wolves side is decent, but against City they were completely outclassed. They haven’t had the best form at the Molineux recently; they’ve lost five of their last seven league matches and have only won four from eleven all season.

Leicester seem to perform when there is absolutely no pressure or expectation on them. Games they should be winning they seem to battle but then they go and beat Chelsea and Manchester City.

This could go either way, literally. I’m leaning slightly toward Leicester… but I’ll go for a draw.

Prediction: 1-1

Manchester United v Brighton

Surely United can make it seven wins on the spin. It really does seem like they could play anyone at the moment and back themselves to win – the way it should be!

United aren’t defensively sound though, if it weren’t for another inspired performance by David de Gea it could have been a different game. Brighton have the quality to get on the scoresheet but I’m not sure they will be able to deal with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba.

Routine win for United here.

Prediction: 3-1

Watford v Burnley

Sean Dyche has got Burnley back to what they’re good at: difficult to breakdown. The only issue I have with the Clarets right now is that they don’t have enough shots at goal.

Watford is the most inconsistent side in the League right now. They must be a punters worst nightmare. Their roller-coaster season took an upward turn last week as they managed to beat Palace 2-1 away from home, but their inconsistency is reason enough to worry. If they completely rinse Burnley here nobody would be surprised, but if they lost 1-0 we wouldn’t be shocked either.

I’ll back Watford to edge this by the odd goal.

Prediction: 2-1

Newcastle v Cardiff

Newcastle managed to progress in the FA Cup in their midweek tie, but that progression has been somewhat overshadowed not only by their current league status but also their injury concerns. Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Isaac Hayden all took knocks in that game and a speedy recovery is what all on Tyneside will be hoping for.

Cardiff were battered by Huddersfield, they just couldn’t get into the game. On another day the Terriers win that game by as many as they like. Neil Warnock has done an incredible job with Cardiff; I’ve said it before that he’s one of the most underrated managers in England.

Newcastle have the better squad but I think Cardiff will win this – and what a win it could turn out to be!

Prediction: 0-1

Bournemouth v West Ham

Bournemouth didn’t play too badly against Everton, I guess you could argue they deserved something from the game. Eddie Howe will want to change their record on the road (since it’s so terrible). If they want to be a top 10 Premier League side they will need to improve when playing away.

West Ham aren’t an easy side to face at the moment, the Hammers have had their fair share of ups and downs this season, but they managed to get a result against Arsenal last weekend and now boast a win record of six from their last nine.

Another tough one considering West Ham’s form and Bournemouth’s home record, so I’ll back the draw.

Prediction: 2-2

Liverpool v C Palace

This could be a potential banana-skin fixture for Liverpool. The Reds haven’t been great in 2019; they fell to their first League defeat when they visited Manchester City, which was followed by a shock exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Wolves. This definitely has the potential to derail their quest for a League title though – something that has eluded Jurgen Klopp’s men for the better part of 20 odd years.

Palace are another inconsistent side though, they bob and weave in and out of form. There’s no question they have the players in Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend as well as the manager in Roy Hodgson to pull off the upset. Now it’s just about which Palace show up for this game…

Bottom-line is: if Liverpool wants to win the League they need to be winning these games.

Southampton v Everton

Southampton will be gutted after their FA Cup loss to Championship side Derby on penalties. That is bound to knock their confidence a bit but they cannot afford to rest on their laurels.

The Saints are definitely much better under Ralph Hasenhuttl and will want to respond in this fixture.

Everton haven’t been great recently, I know they won last time out but something just doesn’t feel right there at the moment and the pressure is definitely still on Marco Silva.

These sides look evenly matched on paper – as well as form – but given Everton’s poor away record coupled with Southampton’s newly found X-Factor, I’ll side with the Saints.

Prediction: 2-1

Arsenal v Chelsea

I think after this game Arsenal will be forced to have all their eggs resting in the Europa League basket. It’s their only chance of getting into the top 4. Their defeat to West Ham saw gaps widen and close unfavourably on either side of Unai Emery’s men. The Gunners find themselves level with 6^th placed Man United and six points off 4^th place.

Chelsea has conceded in four of their last five league away games and with the attack Arsenal possess I fancy both teams to get on the score sheet but an away win.

Prediction: 1-3

Huddersfield v Manchester City

This is going to be thrashing. If City takes the game by the scruff of the neck they could significantly boost their goal difference.

Huddersfield has parted ways with manager David Wagner (something I didn’t see coming) and is yet to announce his replacement. Huddersfield come into this game without a manager, are in ridiculously bad form and almost guaranteed to be playing Championship football next season – if you’re a betting man you can put your kids tuition on that at your local bookmaker.

City wins this, and by as much as you’d like.

Prediction: 0-4 (and I’m being kind.)

Fulham v Tottenham

This is my upset package for the weekend. If Harry Kane plays its definitely a foregone conclusion. However now Fulham have a very real chance of getting something from the game.

Spurs will be without Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son plus Moussa Sissoko – where are the goals going to come from? Claudio Ranieri has come in and definitely improved Fulham but their defeat to Burnley confirmed there is still a long way to go.

Lets not forget the Cottagers spent over 100 million quid in the summer, something which was supposed to almost guarantee safety from relegation and possible a mid-table finish…failure to do so would result in a massive financial loss for the club, and with just five points separating from the drop-zone it’s a threat which could quickly become a reality.

I’m going to stick my neck out and back a huge upset which could be the catalyst for Fulham’s season!
