Pirates announce new coach
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
The identity of the new Orlando Pirates coach has been revealed and he hails from Sweden.
Following the departure of Mushin Ertugral in November last year, caretaker coach, August Palacios stepped in to babysit the club’s bench while management were looking for a new coach and things were getting worse.
The new coach is Kjell Jonevret! A stranger to South African football lovers.
The 54-year-old was hired as the manager for Molde FK in December 2006, but left the club in August 2010.
Jonevret was the manager of Djurgårdens IF between 2004 and 2006. During his time in Djurgården, he led his team to the double, winning both the Allsvenskan(Swedish league title) and the Swedish cup in 2005.
The Swede will be assisted by Harold "Jazzy Queen" Legodi who replaces departing Bradley Carnell.
Carnell requested to be released, citing a European job offer.
