Nine from SA in US Open field
The second golf major of the year will get underway tomorrow.
This year the US Open field features nine South Africans.
They are Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Garth Mulroy, Tjaart van der Walt, Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, Branden Grace, Thomas Aiken and George Coetzee.
Els and Goosen have both won this major twice.
They are in the same first round three-ball.
Oosthuizen, also a former major winner, will have Tiger Woods and Rickie Fowler for company in the opening round.
Schwartzel, a former US Masters champion, will play his first round alongside Hunter Mahan and Bill Haas at Chambers Bay.
