Durban Naval Base will again open its doors to physically challenged anglers on 1 August 2015.

Anglers will fish from 6am to 2pm and all fish caught will be released.

Durban Naval Base is known to produce a great variety of fish.

Species caught during previous editions of this competition include shad, rockcod and grunter.

I personally remember catching several snapper salmon there many years ago.

Organisers are hoping for sponsors to supply them with goodies for anglers on the day.

For more details on how to enter the competition or to donate prizes - call 031 701 7444.

Entry fee for the disabled is R50 and R100 for their assistants.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

It promises to be an excellent day of fishing with the Naval Base closed to fishing for much of the year.
