The transfer window came to a close last night. Over 840-thousand pounds was spent to purchase new players during the window.

The biggest signing for me has to be the capture of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid.

Manchester United secured the services of the Argentine for a new British record fee of 58-million pounds rounded off.

This amount shattered Chelsea's fifty million pound deal to lure Fernando Torres from Liverpool.

The Red Devils managed to capture one of the world's best strikers an hour after the window closed yesterday, the Old Trafford faithful will have the luxury to watch Radamel Falcao for the entire 2014/2015 season.

The AS Monaco target man has joined United on a season long loan from the French outfit.

Pundits believe the move was not necessary given the fact that Van Persie and Rooney are fit an are available to play.

The general feeling is that the defence needs more rehabilitation than the strike force, the arrival of Marcus Rojo and Daley Blind just to name a few should offer abit of assistance at the back and hopefully stop the flurry of conceeded goals.

The Manchester club also completed deals with Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Danny Welbeck has joined Arsenal on a four-year contract for a fee just shy of 17-million pounds, the other move saw Javier Hernandez join Madrid on a season long loan with an option to buy.

Welbeck will play alongside the Gunners new target man Alexis Sanchez, their pairing could prove to be the difference.

Both players are versatile and have what it takes to beat a defender on a one on one situation. Olivier Giroud has found the back of the net but, hasn't quite gained Arsene Wenger's confidence, however, Welbeck is very similar to Lucas Podolski, so one can beg to differ whether the purchase was required or not?

Chicharito, hasn't quite been the same player since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, I suspect he is at Madrid to ruffle up Karim Benzema. He will play as a second fiddle striker, at this point in time he has been inconsistent and has barely started since the arrival of Van Gaal.

It won't be smooth sailing for the Mexican at the Santiago Bernabeu, the likes of James Rodriquez will make it difficult for him to feature on a regular basis.

He has what it takes to shine, he is still young, if he does produce the goods his future in the Spanish capital could be very bright.
