Legends bid farewell
Updated | By Staff Writer

In Spain we saw Xavi Hernandez bidding farewell to a club he grew up at.
Xavi played over 500 games in the league for Barcelona netting 58 times.
The midfielder joined the Catalans 24 years ago.
Xavi won the La Liga title eight times and all in all managed 25 trophies with the Spanish giants.
After a 17-year first team career with his childhood club, Xavi is off to Qatar on a two-year deal to be a player/coach at Al Sadd SC.
Xavi also enjoyed both World Cup and European Championship success with the Spanish national side.
Steven Gerrard is probably the best Liverpool player to have ever worn that red strip. It was not the best of send off for Gerrard losing in his last home match and also a week later being thumped by Stoke City in his last appearance for Liverpool.
Gerrard is off to the MLS where he starts a new chapter in his career and porbably his final chapter.
The man known as 'Stevie G' played 504 league games for the Reds scoring 120 times.
In 2005 Gerrard led Liverpool to the UEFA Champions League title and also won the UEFA Player-of-the-Year award.
It is tough to believe that Gerrard never won an English Premier League title during his impressive and long tenure with the Anfield club.
Frank Lampard is one of the most decorated English footballers in Britian. A product of the West Ham United academy, he made 148 appearances for the Hammers scoring 24 goals.
This success paved the way for a move to Chelsea in 1996 where he became one of the greatest midfielders of his generation..
He is the all-time leading goalscorer for Chelsea where he played for 13 years and his Chelsea teammate and captain John Terry has described him as Chelsea "greatest ever player." Lampard made 429 league appearance scoring a staggering 147 times -a stunning return for a midfielder.
This past weekend was his second goodbye to the Barclays Premier League ending off with a loan stint with Manchester City.
Lampard's next assignment with New York City FC in the MLS.
