He was followed by Daiya Seto of Japan in 1:48.92 and Pawel Korzeniowski of Poland in a time of 1:50.21.
The Durban swimming star became the first swimmer in history to ever sweep all three butterfly races, 50m, 100m and 200m, in a single championship.
Le Clos also now has four individual gold medals this week, becoming the second male swimmer ever to do so.
The 22-year-old now holds both the 200m and 100m butterfly world short-course records.
Meanwhile, South Africa's Cameron van der Burgh got back onto the podium with a silver-medal swim in the men's 50m breaststroke, clocking 25.87.
Brazil's Felipe da Silva won the men's 50m breaststroke final.
