KZN Golf giving Under 19 IPT hopefuls the best chance for success

Emile Steinmann (ES Golf) has partnered with the KZN Golf Union to run the various camps that have been set up to take place throughout the year.

The KZN Golf Union has set up ten camps for the group of players that will take place over the year at the Mount Edgecombe Driving Range while KZNGU has brought on board XpectPerformance as their strength and conditioning partner for the players.

With eight months to prepare for the IPT in Gqeberha, the players are being given as much assistance as possible to get back into the A Division.

"We're grateful to the partners that have come on board to help up give our players the best chance possible at the IPT at the end of the year," Neil Bennett, Junior Golf Administrator at the KZN Golf Union, said.

"It's an exciting time for golf in the province as we attempt to get KZN Golf back to where it should be and to see the support that we have got from our partners on board, we're looking forward to seeing how the players go at the end of the year.

"Emile comes with so much experience and expertise and we are confident that his role will be invaluable to our players."

The players will be assessed across a number of different playing categories which will include work on Trackman technology, video and 3D analysis, Player specific training and practice schedules and psychology sessions.

For Bennett, the preparation of these players will play an important role in working out the way forward for junior golf in KZN.

"This will give us a good idea about what works and what doesn't so we can either refine the process or keep it as is going forward.

"We're incredibly excited to be introducing this high-performance element into our junior golf system and are looking forward to seeing the results come December," Bennett added.

The programme begins in April with a camp every month in the lead-up to the national competition in December in the Eastern Cape at the Port Elizabeth Golf Club.
