Kosi Bay has been incredibly productive to the guys fishing for light edibles on spoon and bait this week with lots of bonefish, stumpnose and wave garrick coming out.

There have also been some reports of a few flatfish coming out. So if you’re off to Kosi for a holiday, make sure you pack everything from light spinning to heavy slide baits.

Richards Bay north is producing excellent fish for those who are interested in fishing for big flatfish and sharks. There have been reports of big honeycombs, sandsharks and diamond rays in the shallower areas with anglers picking up the odd raggie when their bait moves off the edge of the bank. This area has truly been a hot-spot for anglers trying to break their personal records.
 
Richards Bay south has been producing some good fish when the conditions are right. Unfortunately the heatwaves have been warming the water up a bit much and is chasing these fish away.

Ballito to Blythedale has proved its worth with plenty of anglers hooking into monster sandsharks and honeycomb rays. Anglers have been having most luck on fresh shad cutlets and mackerel baits. Anglers after really big fish have been having the best luck around the Mail Boat area.

Ballito south has been producing some good fish lately, even though the fish are on the smaller side. There have been lots of diamond rays and sandsharks around this area, so holiday-makers that are still a bit green when it comes to fishing for bigger flatfish should really make an attempt around this area.

Durban beaches have been producing some good fish if you are willing to fight the crowds. There have been some excellent stumpnose coming out as well as some good sized grunter. These fish are coming out on sea lice. There have been some good catches of shad around the piers and anglers are urged to stick to size and bag limit.

There have been reports from the Bluff of plenty of bronze bream coming out, as well as plenty of good size shad.

Toti is still producing plenty of shad and flatfish. There are a lot of brown rays being caught around the 20kg mark.

There are still some kob hanging around the Port Shepstone area with plenty of shad and bronze bream coming out as well. Further south there are still a few garrick around.

Transkei north has been producing some good non-edibles such as hammerhead sharks and raggies, with all taking chokka slide baits. There have also been some monster garrick coming out on live shad.

Transkei south has been producing some good non-edibles with plenty of big grey sharks and hammerheads coming out on slide and swim baits.
