Garrick hunting in Durban harbour
Updated | By Nondumiso Zakwe
Just as the garrick smash ended, we saw another cold snap pulling through and hopefully it will drive the garrick back to the Durban harbour sandbanks for another week or so of live baiting.
Anglers fishing on the banks over the weekend saw a substantial amount of action and garrick smashing mullet and garfish.
This hunt saw a few of the more decent specimens up to 10kg being caught by anglers out on the bay.
We were tweeted a photo of at least one nice garrick caught on a typical bay rod and a KP reel in Durban harbour late last week.
Grunter have not been as abundant as they have been in the previous weeks.
However, the often decent size of the fish landed has made up for the lack of quantity.
