Gabon to host 2017 AFCON

CAF president Issa Hayatou has announced that Gabon will host the 2017 edition for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ivory Coast are the defending champions after winning the tournament for a second time in Equatorial Guinea in February this year. The announcement came shortly before the draw was made.

They beat Ghana and Algeria to the hosting rights of the 31st edition of AFCON.

Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Mali, Nigeria, Algeria, Zambia, Cape Verde, DRC, Guinea, Senegal, Cameroon

Pot 2: 
South Africa , Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Ethiopia, Togo, Morocco, Niger, Egypt, Uganda, Malawi, Sudan

Pot 3: 
Mozambique, Botswana, Libya, Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Kenya, Benin, Rwanda, Tanzania, CAR, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Gambia

Pot 4:
