Flatfish mayhem in Durban
Updated | By Andre Bloem and Kingfisher
Blue Lagoon, Durban piers and Durban beachfront in the uShaka area experienced mayhem throughout the northeast winds, with anglers catching crazy amounts of flatfish in the evenings.

Big diamond rays up to about 70kg were landed.
Anglers also caught some smaller honeycomb rays, some thorn-tail rays, some large sandsharks and numerous brown rays.
Anglers also managed a few decent edibles in the flatfish chaos.
Bluff anglers struggled for form as rough seas made angling particularly difficult and many anglers found themselves going home empty handed. With some good winds predicted for the week, anglers will be getting their live bait outfits ready for some kingfish action on the Bluff.
I will be out on the ocean with the GoFish magazine team tomorrow.
We will be jumping on a jet-ski and hoping to catch dorado, tuna and/or couta off Umhlanga and possibly Umdloti.
