The Proteas have ended day three of the first cricket Test against New Zealand on 38 for one in their second innings.
They lead New Zealand by five runs in Dunedin.
Stephen Cook is out for a duck, while Hashim Amla is undefeated on 23.
New Zealand had earlier been dismissed for 341 in their first innings.
Kane Williamson top scored for the Black Caps with 130.
Keshav Maharaj was the most successful South African bowler.
Maharaj claimed five for 94.
Vernon Philander and Morne Morkel took two wickets each.
This is the first of three Tests.
