Dolphins go down fighting in Durban
Updated | By Staff Writer

The former Proteas wicketkeeper struck 102 from 117 balls, his second century in five days, and Graeme van Buuren crashed an unbeaten 47 as the visitors reached the 238 victory target with nine deliveries to spare.
Earlier on it took a late-innings Daryn Smit (53) and Kyle Abbott (43) partnership to propel the hosts to a respectable total after they had slipped to 146 for seven having won the toss and batted first.
Captain Morne van Wyk also struck 48, but their total appeared well short of par, allowing the Pretoria side to book a meeting in Friday's final against the Cape Cobras in Cape Town.
At the start, Cameron Delport was promoted to open the batting, and along with Van Wyk, helped put on a brisk 53 for the first wicket, before edging Ethy Mbhalati to Qaasim Adams at first slip.
The man he replaced, Imraan Khan (six), lasted just eight deliveries batting at number three before he slashed CJ de Villiers, the pick of the bowlers with three for 40, straight to Roelof van der Merwe at cover.
Vaughn van Jaarsveld (three) was next to go when he wafted at the same bowler and was caught by Adams at slip.
That left the hosts on 75 for three, which became 110 for four when Cody Chetty edged Shaun von Berg (2/41) to Mangaliso Mosehle for 22.
Van Wyk was looking good for a second half century of the season, but threw his wicket away by trying to cut Van der Merwe fine and instead sliced to Francois le Clus at backward point.
The situation worsened for the Dolphins when Khaya Zondo (15) and Robbie Frylinck (eight) fell in quick succession leaving the score on 146 for seven.
But Abbott and Smit dug in, batting patiently initially, before cutting loose towards the end.
The pair went over 10 overs without striking a boundary and by the end of their stand had smashed seven fours and a six, including Smit reaching his seventh career 50 in 57 balls, as the Dolphins were dismissed for 237 with two balls remaining.
Le Clus (17) fell early in the chase, edging Graham Onions behind to Van Wyk, before Cobus Pienaar (28) helped Kuhn put on 55 for the second wicket.
Even when that stand was broken by Smit, the Titans were still well poised at 87 for two.
But there was hope for the Dolphins when Adams (eight) was run out by Smit on the other side of the 100 being raised and Farhaan Behardien (15) was bowled by Zondo.
However, Kuhn found a willing partner in Van Buuren, and after putting on 50 in 50 balls together, the 29-year-old reached his seventh career century from 114 deliveries.
He was out two runs later, after moving top of the batting charts with an aggregate of 470 runs, but Van Buuren, who shared a 71-run stand with Kuhn, took them over the line.
