Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi started for for Palace, he was replaced in the 85th minute.
Manchester City now have the upperhand going into their clash with Aston Villa at Etihad tomorrow.
A win for the Citizens would move them 2 points clear of Liverpool.
All three league contenders: Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City will be on display on the final matchday on Sunday.
As it stands, the Blues are third on 79 points, City is second on 80 points and the Reds are still at the summit on 81 points.
