Deysel to fish at Quattro 2015
The Cell C Sharks flanker will be fishing off a jetski.
I will be on a ski-boat again at Quattro this year.
Another rugby star, Andre Joubert, ended second at the Imperial Nissan Zululand Couta Classic last month.
Joubert caught a couta of 28.1kg in the competition hosted at Mtunzini.
Deysel is also a very competent angler and I recall him catching both dorado and tuna in the company of Brad Arthur from FreeSpool back in 2013.
On that occasion Deysel and Arthur were fishing off kayaks off Umdloti.
There is one notable change to the rules for Quattro this year with Natal snoek to count more points than in 2014.
This may just tempt a few anglers to work the backline a bit longer before heading deeper for couta, wahoo, bonito and tuna.
I wonder if my skipper will be heading to Protea Banks again in pursuit of tuna...
We hooked and lost several at this stretch off Shelly Beach during Quattro 2014.
I sure hope we can avoid the spinner sharks this year. They stole a few hooked tuna from us last year.
Quattro takes place this coming weekend and I suspect I will have some fine photos and stories to share with you next week.
