Boks change two for All Blacks

Springbok coach Allister Coetzee has made two injury-enforced changes to his side for their final Rugby Championship clash against the All Blacks in Durban on Saturday.

Stormers inside centre Damian de Allende moves into the starting lineup after outside centre Jesse Kriel was ruled out of the clash due to a groin injury. Juan de Jongh, who played at 12 in last weekend's win over Australia, shifts to outside centre in Kriel's absence.

Coetzee will be hoping that the Western Province midfielders can continue their combination, which has been tried and tested at provincial and Super Rugby level over the past few years.

The only other change to the team sees Faf de Klerk return to the starting lineup in place of concussed scrumhalf Rudi Paige.

Bryan Habana was an injury concern earlier in the week, but he came through training on Thursday. He will feature in his more-favoured position on the left wing, while Francois Hougaard swaps over to the right wing.

The Springbok pack is unchanged after their win at Loftus Versveld, while Coetzee has once again gone for a 6-2 split of forwards and backs on the bench. The Bok coach hopes the decision will pay off as it did again Australia.

“I expect them to do a similar job this coming weekend. Furthermore, our set-piece have functioned very well and I am hoping for the same against a very good defensive lineout and scrum from the All Blacks," Coetzee said.

“The All Blacks will be a huge Test, they are number one side in the world and they have great form at the moment. We are playing at home and the boys are looking forward to the encounter against the world’s best team.

“It is important for us to end the campaign with a good performance against a very good All Blacks side. What I would like to see is that that we keep on improving as a team and build on our continuity and converting more of our opportunities into points.”

The Boks take on the All Blacks at Growthpoint Kings Park on Saturday. Kickoff is at 17h00.
