Big tuna caught at Zinkwazi
Updated | By Staff Writer

There have also been a few Snoek caught on small Rattler lures as well as the traditional Kingfisher Snoek trace. Redeye fillet or Sardine fillet has worked well. Mackerel are also now available and there is nothing better than a Mackerel bait to catch a bigger Couta.
Central – Those in the know have targeted their favourite spots amongst the ships to catch Dorado. There have been good catches still on the Rattler Poppers as well as Wild Dog Stick baits. There has also been a few Geelbek around and good Reds and Rock Cods for the guys targeting bottoms. Water temperature has dropped a bit and is not the ideal 24ºC temperature. Boats trolling on the 50m mark have done well.
South – Also working very well, although the Paddlers in this area have taken a bit of a back seat. Feathers and Spoons have been used to target Wahoo. There have also been good catches of Yellowfin Tuna and plenty of small Bonito have been put out to target Couta.
Durban Bay – The Bay returned to normal after the Christmas Classic and although there have not been lots of fish, some definite quality fish have come out. A nice Grunter of 3.5 kilos was caught near centre bank. The Coaling terminals have produced the odd Pick-handle and Anglers fishing off of the Block have caught a few Shad and smaller sized Grunter.
