De Kock, who has come into a rich period of form for the Proteas, will be rested for the 50 over portion of the tour and will join the side for the T20 matches as the side begin their final preparations for the T20 World Cup in the UAE.

Miller has been recovering from a hamstring injury that he picked up at the back-end of the T20 series against Ireland and has been slated to be fit for the T20 series but will be absent from the 50 over team.

Ngidi has been given time off during the ODI series but will also be back for the 20 over series.

All-rounder Dwaine Pretorius returns to both squads after he has recovered from a lengthy injury and seamer Junior Dala has been selected in the 50 over squad for the tour.

“After the white-ball teams’ successes in the West Indies and Ireland, we are excited to have them back in action and continuing their preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup later this year,” convenor of selectors Victor Mpitsang said.

“With the many COVID-19-induced bio-bubbles that the touring squads have had to endure, it is pleasing to have the majority of our players available for action and we look forward to watching them in the very different conditions of Sri Lanka.

“I would like to wish Temba Bavuma and Mark Boucher all the best for what we know will be a challenging tour, but we have every confidence in the squads selected and the leadership behind them.”
