Anderson out of Shanghai Open

South Africa’s Kevin Anderson has been knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the Shanghai Masters, losing to Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Tsonga beat the South African 7-6 (8/6), 5-7, 6-4.
Anderson will rue giving up a 5-1 advantage in the first set tie-break.
It was nevertheless a decent week for the South African No 1, who entered the tournament at a career high world ranking of No 10.
In the other quarter-finals later in the day, Rafael Nadal will face Stan Wawrinka, Novak Djokovic will duel Bernard Tomic and Andy Murray takes on Tomas Berdych.
