Zululand woman gunned down in home invasion

A 46-year-old Zululand nurse, who was shot dead in a home invasion in front of her children, has been described as a selfless and hardworking woman.
Nothando Biyela was killed at her Melmoth home on Sunday.
She and her family were watching TV when a group of heavily armed men stormed the property.
"At gunpoint, they demanded cellular phones and the car keys. After receiving both, they took the deceased's car and drove off. While at the gate, they reversed and came back to the house. They shot the woman in front of her children," KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele said.
Mbhele says the stolen vehicle was recovered at eShowe and the motive for the killing in not known at this stage.
The Health MEC says Biyela first joined KwaMagwaza Hospital as part of the cleaning unit and worked her way up the ladder to become a qualified nurse.
